The good news is yes - you already have a set of abs waiting to be transformed into toned abs. The bad news is that how much you see them with in a six-week period depends on how much body fat you are currently carrying.

The most important part of any training program is that it needs to be progressive. If it is not suited to your current fitness level, you will not see the results. Also if it doesn’t adjust your fitness gains for example building a step by step process you will not get he results.

It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t start a weight reduction/resistance training program. You will have to add another two or four weeks. Although these exercise help tone and strengthen your abs, you will not see your abs if you have a high percentage of body fat. Your abs will develop, but they will be hidden under a layer of fat.

To reveal those abs that are hiding, you must do cardio exercises. These exercises will help to lose overall body fat. The great thing about cardio exercises is that there are so many to chose from. If you’re ever bored with one exercise, you can just switch to a more interesting one.

You don’t have to stop doing your sit-ups or your crunches, as these will add to the definition of the muscles. Just remember to consider cardio when planning your next ab workout. It will reveal that six-pack you’ve been working on and it will make you healthier as an added bonus!
